After an initial start was red flagged, the start of the STK1000 race at the TT Circuit Assen was delayed as an oil spill on track was cleaned. With the new race distance shortened to a 9 lap sprint, it was Althea BMW rider Raffaele de Rosa who took victory by over ten seconds, after also proving fastest in morning Warm Up, taking the lead in the title standings.
Pedercini Racing Kawasaki rider Jeremy Guarnoni took P2 on his ZX 10R, whilst Aragón podium finisher Michael Ruben Rinaldi took another rostrum for the Aruba.it Junior Team by coming home in P3, outracing experienced teammate Leandro Mercado, who brought the second Aruba.it Junior Team bike home in P9.
