BMW Motorrad has a mission: to build the best motorcycles in the world. Our engineers work with insatiable passion to advance technological developments so as to provide you with maximum riding pleasure. The aim is not only to improve riding performance but also to focus on riding fun and the ridability of the motorcycles.
There are now a whole series of perfectly harmonised safety systems which do just this – first and foremost ABS. It is the lightest and most intelligent anti-lock braking system of any manufacturer. It assists the rider by making sure the motorcycle remains under control in dangerous situations.
In view of technological advancements and the high level of satisfaction and fitting rate, making ABS part of the standard equipment of all current BMW Motorrad models is a logical step towards ensuring the safety of our riders.
BMW Motorrad also uses such systems as DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), tried and tested in motor racing. Traction control ensures maximum yet safe acceleration.
RDC makes sure your motorcycle doesn’t literally run out of breath during travel. The tyre pressure control function means you can be sure that the tyres of your BMW are running efficiently and securely.
The electronic suspension adjustment function ESA II is fitted as standard in the K 1600 GT/GTL. It adapts suspension and damping to motorcycle load and road conditions. This especially enhances ride and braking stability.
